Advantix® is a once-a-month topical flea, tick, and mosquito treatment for dogs and puppies 7 weeks of age and older. Advantix is a topical parasiticide used in the treatment and prevention of fleas; the control of ticks including the paralysis tick, the brown dog tick and the bush tick; the control of lice and the killing and repelling of mosquitoes in dogs and puppies. One application lasts a month, (2 weeks for paralysis tick).

Advantix is an effective parasite treatment for dogs. This product is specially formulated to repel and kill ticks. Fleas and ticks, including paralysis ticks, bush ticks, and brown dog ticks, are killed by this broad-spectrum parasitic treatment. Using this parasitic control product, fleas are killed, mosquitoes and sandflies are repelled and killed, stable flies are repelled, and lice are controlled. This spot-on treatment is applied fortnightly to control paralysis ticks and monthly to control fleas, lice, brown dog ticks, bush ticks, and biting insects. Additionally, it helps control flea allergy dermatitis. Different breeds of dogs as well as pregnant and lactating dogs can be treated with this monthly dosage.

Advantix for dogs 22-55lbs (10-25kg) is a topical application used to control:

  • Fleas
  • Flea larvae

Used every 2 weeks Advantix will control paralysis ticks. Use monthly for all other external parasites listed above. Kills adult and larval fleas within 20 minutes of application. The active ingredients in Advantix will also control fleas in your pet’s surrounding environment, while also repelling mosquitoes, which transmit heartworm. Advantix can be used on puppies from 7 weeks of age and can be used on lactating and pregnant bitches.

Administration:

  • Part the hair on the back of the neck in between the shoulder blades
  • Squeeze the whole pipette directly onto the skin

Caution

  • Never use on cats
  • Restrict contact between cats and dogs for 48 hours after application of Advantix as a cat may groom the dog and become intoxicated

How does it work?

Advantix dog flea treatment is a potent spot-on treatment that kills external parasites on dogs. Permethrin and Imidacloprid are the two active ingredients. Fleas are eliminated by Imidacloprid, the first ingredient. Parasites are killed before they lay eggs by the ingredient.   

In addition to Permethrin, there is another ingredient that kills ticks. It acts directly on the nervous system of parasites and totally blocks sodium channels, which are crucial for nerve impulsIn the end, this tends to kill pests. In the end, it tends to kill pests. Advantix kills fleas and ticks within two hours of application. In 3 to 5 minutes, Advantix kills re-infesting fleas and kills adult fleas within 1 hour after re-infestation. In addition to treating and controlling fleas and ticks, it repels and destroys other external parasites such as mosquitoes (Anopheles, Culex, Aedes species) and biting midges/sandflies (Phlebotomus, Culicoides species).

How does it work?

There are two main active ingredients in Advantix called imidacloprid and permethrin and these two active ingredients work in conjunction to provide protection against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sandflies, lice, and stable flies. The treatment is administered as a simple spot-on treatment. Advantix stays effective even when your dog gets wet. ^ Advantix is not suitable for cats, and should only ever be used on dogs.

How to Apply

  • Take the pipette out of the package.
  • Pull off the cap of the applicator tube while holding it upright.
  • The pipette seal can be removed by twisting the reversed cap.
