While many worm treatments are required monthly, Drontal Cat Allwormer® treatment lasts three months to effectively control roundworm, hookworm, and tapeworm. Regular deworming is so important because Drontal® effectively breaks the lifecycle of worms. You can start using Drontal Cat Allwormer® from six weeks and throughout pregnancy and lactation.

Drontal Allwormer Tablets for Cats protects your cat against intestinal worms including roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms.

Gentle and effective, Drontal Allwormer tablets are suitable for cats of all ages, whether they are young kittens or pregnant queens. They can be combined with other parasite protection products such as Advantage for Cats, Bravecto Spot On or Comfortis.

What is Drontal?

Drontal is a prescription medication used to remove tapeworms, hookworms and large roundworms in cats and kittens.

Who is it for?

Drontal is for cats and kittens over one month of age or weighing more than 1.5 pounds.

What are the benefits?

How does Drontal work?

Drontal contains the active ingredients praziquantel and pyrantel pamoate. These ingredients work by causing spasms and paralysis of the parasites. The parasite is either completely destroyed in the intestine or passed through your pet's stool by natural processes.

Is there a generic equivalent available?

No, not in this combination.

How is it given?

Drontal tablets are given by mouth. Tablets may be crumbled and mixed with a small amount of food. Be sure the cat eats all of the food. Give Drontal exactly as directed by the veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving this medication, contact your veterinarian.

This medication should only be given to the pet for whom it was prescribed.

What results can I expect?

Drontal eliminates tapeworms, hookworms and roundworms in the intestinal tracts of cats and kittens. It may take several days of treatment to see the full effect of the medication. Drontal will only kill the adult worms that are present. It will not prevent reinfection.

Dosage

For cats, use Drontal Allwormer® Tablets for Cats

You should be dosing your cat with Drontal Allwormer® for Cats every three months, or at the beginning of every season to help control Roundworms, Hookworms, and Tapeworms. Treat with Drontal® every 6 weeks in Hydatid tapeworm infested locations. If whipworm is a problem, retreat every 6-8 weeks.

• 2.2lbs (2kg) and under - half a tablet
• 4.6lbs – 8.8lbs (2.1kg - 4kg) - one tablet
• 8.8lbs – 13.3lbs (4kg - 6kg) - one tablet per 8.8lbs (4 kg)
• Over 13.3lbs (6kg) - one tablet per 8.8lbs (4kg)

If worm problems persist, consult a veterinarian.

Worms, if present, may not appear in the droppings after treatment, or may not appear for up to 48 hours after treatment.

Worms can infect pets in many ways, so it is necessary to;

• treat the cat
• reduce the environmental contamination by disposing droppings daily
• remove tapeworm intermediate hosts eg. Fleas

Active Constituent: Each tablet contains:

• 20mg Praziquanel
• 80mg Pyrantel as the Embonate

Disposal: Dispose of empty container and packaging by wrapping in paper and putting in garbage.

Storage: Store below 30°C (room temperature).
